The Prince William Animal Shelter Capital Improvement Fund

We can’t convey strongly enough and as anyone who has been there can attest, the Prince William Animal Shelter is in dire need of an extreme makeover.  The facility was designed in 1975 to house the strays of a small community population of approximately 150,000.  As the county has grown to over 400,000 residents and their pets, the Shelter has not. The number of animals taken in every year is over 6300 and more than any other No. VA jurisdiction and yet the Shelter has never been updated or upgraded to match the growth of our county.  Thanks to people like you, urgently needed items such as a microscope, a commercial dishwasher, a wash tub, collars, leashes, toys, medicine, beds, blankets, food, etc. have all been donated by private citizens and without you, the homeless, discarded and abused animals would be far worse off.

Despite many challenges the Shelter staff has forged ahead with their determination to turn our Shelter into a No-Kill facility in accordance with the Asilomar Accords by 2014, thereby qualifying our shelter to receive acceptance into that elite group of No-Kill facilities and ultimately possible funding for an onsite Spay/Neuter Clinic, Adoption Facility, Retail Store and State of the Art Housing Facility.

We are thrilled to have made the progress we’ve made thus far but absolutely can’t continue this progress without your donations.

PLEASE DONATE to the The Prince William Animal Shelter Capital Improvement Fund and help us help the Shelter achieve greatness.
