PAWS Fund – Past Success Stories

WHEN IT RAINS, IT POURS!

The Prince William County Animal Shelter has had more than its share of sick and injured animals in the last month and has asked for assistance from the P.A.W.S. Fund for the medical costs for these darlings. Let me introduce you to three of them; Hydi (the black lab puppy with the broken femur), Spanky (a senior kitty with a benign tumor on her leg), Trooper (a pittie mix with a shattered back leg), Junior (the cat with a huge hemotoma on his ear), and Van Gogh (the dog who had to have part of his ear removed). Not Shown: Missy, (the pittie mix who has a hairline fracture of her leg). The PW Humane Society has agreed to pay for all of them and they have received the treatment and surgery needed at Minnieville Animal Hospital. The total is almost $3,400 so far, and we haven’t received all the bills yet.

Your donations are desperately needed. Please remember, We can’t do it without YOU and every donation makes a difference, saves a life and gives a homeless pet a chance at a new life!

Thank You for Your Compassion, Kindness and Generosity!

Please Help Bitsy

bitsy-cat

Bitsy was found abandoned at the shelter and in terrible shape. She was emaciated, dehydrated, and flea infested, but worst of all Bitsy’s right eye was terribly abscessed and the Shelter Vet feared for her life. Shelter staff called P.W. Humane Society for help and we immediately agreed to take care of her. Bitsy was taken to Minnieville Animal Hospi-tal for treatment where they discovered that she had an abscessed tooth that had gone untreated so long the infection had migrated to her right eye. Emergency surgery was performed and unfortunately the infection was so severe, Bitsy lost both her eye and her tooth. We are just happy she didn’t lose her life. Bitsy is on the mend now, a very spe-cial and sweet senior cat who really wants a second chance at love and happiness. She qualifies for the Seniors 4 Seniors Free Adoption Pro-gram and you can see her at the Pr. Wm. County Animal Shelter.

Your generous donations will allow us to continue to help pets like Bitsy. Truly, every dollar makes a difference in the lives of these helpless and homeless pets. Thank you so much for your generosity, compassion and love!

This is Otie and He Needs Your Help!

otie

Otie is a victim of a cruelty investigation and received severe injuries to his spine resulting in a traumatic disc rupture and temporary paralysis.

P.W. Humane Society needs your help to get this adorable little guy rehabilitated & find him a new home. Due to his extensive injuries and lack of socialization, he is in need of acupuncture, physical therapy and additional medical care to assure he recovers and becomes adoptable. Otie’s bills have already hit $3333 for an MRI, emergency neurological veterinary services, x-rays & medications. And his medical care and bills continue to mount!

We need your donations, Otie’s future depends on your help! Please help us help Otie.

Noel is so happy to announce that she has her own home (and closet) this Holiday Season. She is happy, healthy and continues to be spoiled by her new mom and dad. We are very happy too. Thanks to everyone that shared her picture and our appeal to find her a forever home. It worked.

UPDATE ON DEXTER:

Dexter came by for a visit and is happy to report that the Vet has removed the 24 staples from his leg, he has one more week in a solid cast and then he will go to a soft cast for a while. The Vet says his leg is mending nicely, but he will need extensive physical therapy. He is so grateful to everyone that helped him and promises to come to Fall 4 Fur, Oct. 26 & 27 for a visit. Hope to see you there too.

This sweet pup was successfully operated on by Dr. Bradley at Veterinary Surgical Referral Practice of No. VA and immediately fostered by one of the Vet. Techs who had been so diligently caring for her prior to surgery. She is recovering beautifully and thanks to you, is looking forward to a long, loving and active life.

Your donations made the difference between surgery for a normal life and amputation of her leg. Unfortunately, we see several serious medical cases throughout the year and there is never enough money to pay these bills. Please help us to help future injured pets by making a donation.
