Emaciated and near death, Jack Frost was brought to the PWC Animal Shelter and they immediately called PW Humane Society for help. He was rushed to Minnieville Animal Hospital for x-rays and emergency surgery only to find the culprit was a squeaker from a dog toy lodged in his intestines.

Without such quick action by Shelter personnel, he could easily have died. The Vet bills exceeded $1000. Thanks to the P.A.W.S. fund, Jack's life was saved and he was able to find his forever home.

Warrior Story: Patrick Smyth & Kona

We would like to you to meet Patrick Smyth and his Warrior Buddy, Kona. Patrick was referred to the Warrior Buddies Adoption Program after suffering a traumatic brain injury and PTSD from a roadside bombing in Afghanistan in 2012. Kona had been mistreated and caged up for the first nine months of his life and desperately in need of love.

After our program introduce the two, it was love and first sight. Kona acted like he had known Patrick forever.

Patrick says “It was like a spark happened and then blazed into a roaring fire.”

The two are finishing their training and will soon be a full-time working service team.

This sweet senior is 16 years old and was brought in to the Prince William County Animal Shelter injured by a relative who can’t afford to provide the necessary veterinary care. The owner has Alzheimer’s and is in a home. The pup is limping on front left leg and the veterinarian suspects that it might be fractured. Please help us get this pet the necessary treatment! Millie got her cast off this week & is now getting used to walking normally again. This sweet & gentle lady is such a joy to have around. Millie is so beautiful because she gets a lot of beauty sleep during the day but loves to snuggle with her people in the evening. She is friendly to everyone & all dogs that she meets & would love a play mate who would enjoy playing with her. Millie does not like car rides & exploring new places much, she prefers to stay indoors & keep you company. If you have a place for this adorable & sweet senior citizen please contact the Adopt Shop at 703-634-0880 to set up a meet & greet with her foster.
