Dexter Needs a HERO!

Dexter is a happy and normal puppy in most ways. He likes to play, sniff everything, and take naps on the couch with his favorite humans. There are some things though that make Dexter unique from other puppies.

He is blind and has Megaesophagus!

Dexter was born with Microphthalmia, a congenital abnormality where one or both eyes are abnormally small, which left him blind. He was also born with a congenital defect where a small vessel did not dissolve as it should have during development, and unfortunately is constricting his esophagus right above the heart, making it difficult for food to move from the mouth to the stomach. This very serious condition is commonly called Megaesophagus.

Currently, Dexter can only eat liquid food as this is the only way to get the food to his stomach, which increases his chances of developing pneumonia and also keeps him from gaining the appropriate amount of weight required to develop.

The good news is, his blindness does not slow him down and his esophagus condition can be surgically corrected! This intricate surgery requires a specialist and the estimated cost for this procedure is between $5000 - $6000. LUCKILY, with YOUR HELP, Dexter will get the expert medical care he desperately needs!

Please donate towards Dexter’s care so we can cover the MRI and specialized surgery that he needs to live a normal life!

THANK YOU!!
